I recently completed a project to refresh the backstage and production rooms of a TV studio located in a historic airport building made of brick. The design was driven by a commitment to sustainability and respect for the building's unique architecture. Rather than starting from scratch, I chose to preserve and repurpose much of the existing furniture, using these elements as the foundation for the new design.
I was also responsible for selecting the company’s color palette, which is integral to the space’s new aesthetic. Inspired by the studio’s location and history, I chose colors that reflect the sky and the brickwork of the building—soft blues and earthy terracotta tones. This palette creates a cohesive look that ties the space to its environment while providing a modern and inviting atmosphere.
These refreshed rooms are where productions for major shows like Dancing with the Stars, Norway's Got Talent, The Voice, and others come to life. The updated design not only minimizes waste but also honors the studio’s past, resulting in a space that beautifully blends the old with the new. The result is a functional and inspiring environment that supports the creativity and energy of these high-profile productions.
