I took on an exciting project to refresh the music studio at Gateway Studios. My focus was on sustainability and thoughtful design. I wanted to create an inspiring environment that boosts creativity while being kind to the existing space and minimizing waste.
To kick things off, I dove into the current furniture and features in the studios. I decided to keep and repurpose many of the original pieces, giving them a new lease on life. Plus, I found most of the new furniture at secondhand and vintage shops, which really helped us stay true to our sustainability goals. This approach not only paid tribute to the studio’s history but allowed me to create a cohesive design that beautifully blends old and new.
For the color palette, I chose vibrant yet balanced shades that resonate with the creative energy of the space. These colors were carefully selected to foster a productive and inspiring atmosphere for everyone – from artists to producers. Not only do they look great, but they also enhance the studio's functionality.
In the end, we now have a series of music studios that are as visually appealing as they are aligned with Gateway Studios' commitment to sustainability. They’ve transformed into the perfect backdrop for creativity, striking a harmonious balance between style, function, and environmental consciousness. By incorporating pre-owned furnishings, we not only reduced waste but also added a unique charm to each studio, making them truly special places for creativity to thrive.
